Conflict arose within the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) over whether to include a proposal to drop the "Uyn Suk-yeol Defense Rights Assurance Opinion" in a resolution. During the 14th Special General Committee meeting on January 13th, representatives including I Suk-jin, O Young-guen, So Ra-mi, Jo Suk-hyun, and O Wan-ho opposed the postponement of the resolution by NHRC Chairman An Chang-ho.

As a result, the representatives left the meeting, causing it to fail. This is the third time representatives have left the meeting due to the resolution since last month. The resolution, passed on February 10th of last year, calls for the NHRC to revoke the decision and apologize to the nation. Before the meeting began, An Chang-ho stated that the resolution to drop the resolution is unprecedented and emphasized the legality of "Uyn Suk-yeol Defense Rights Assurance Opinion".

He also promised to consider the resolution during the regular General Committee meeting on January 24th. In response, Jo Suk-hyun stated, "Please decide on the inclusion of the resolution right now. The chairman is not deciding based on the opinions of the representatives who support it. If you run the committee this way, it will not work."

I Suk-jin also criticized An Chang-ho for taking too long to consider the resolution after the resolution was proposed in July. Some representatives, including Han Se-hun, challenged An Chang-ho's stance on the resolution's eligibility, while others defended An Chang-ho's position. An Chang-ho maintained his original stance that the resolution is "legitimately misleading" and will address the resolution's eligibility at the next meeting.

The remaining representatives left the meeting, causing the resolution to fail in being passed. The resolution is related to the revision of regulations on the number of human resources in the NHRC and is expected to be passed before the meeting on January 21st. However, the NHRC officials explained that despite similar situations in the past, there were no difficulties as the joint directorship related to the increase in human resources would be implemented.
