Residents of Kabe Village in NW say they have no medical facility

Residents of Kabe Village, situated in the northwestern region outside Mahikeng, are grappling with a significant medical crisis, having been without basic healthcare for over two years. The community, comprising approximately 300 households, had been anticipating a temporary park-home clinic promised by the North West Department of Health. This waiting period surpasses three decades, with the residents expressing frustration as the project has seemingly vanished from the recent government plans.

Despite the initial promise, the community continues to travel considerable distances to seek medical assistance, with no clear timeline for the promised healthcare facility. The residents are deeply disappointed with the Department of Health, alleging that they were left in the lurch after the foundation of the promised clinic was laid.

The contractor, employed by the government, has vanished into thin air, leaving the community feeling neglected and marginalized. They have made concerted efforts to intervene and follow up on this issue, yet the situation remains unresolved, with the waiting period stretching over three to four years.
