Rajagobal backs Harimau Malaya to tame Vietnam despite injury woes

Former national coach K. Rajagobal urged Harimau Malaya to embrace their upcoming match against Vietnam in the Asean Hyundai Cup semi-finals without being deterred by expectations. He reminded the team they have nothing to lose and suggested they should focus on enjoying the game. The Malaysian team will host the first leg at the KLFA Stadium, with the second leg scheduled for Wednesday at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

Rajagobal, who guided Harimau Malaya to the 2010 title, urged fans not to look for someone to blame if their team falls short. He believes the semi-finals will provide a good test for the Malaysian team, particularly the younger players, against Vietnam. While acknowledging Vietnam's strength, Rajagobal emphasized that football can be unpredictable and that any team, favorite or not, can lose.

He advised the Malaysian side to forget the noise, play the game and see where it takes them. Rajagobal also supported Cheng Hoe to handle the challenge, stating that the coaching staff know what is best for the team. With Malaysia already in the last four, Rajagobal stressed the importance of discipline, consistency, and making the most of their resources.
