Police constable found dead in ACP office, kin suspect foul play

A 26-year-old police constable was discovered dead in the bathroom of the L B Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning. Preliminary reports suggest that the death may have been a suicide, while the deceased's family members suspect foul play. The constable, who had been assigned to e-COPS duty and was working night shifts, was found hanging in the restroom.

The other police personnel who noticed his condition immediately transported him to Kamineni Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

The deceased, hailing from Bandalemuru village in Manchal mandal of Ranga Reddy district, had been staying in a room with friends at Karmanghat, approximately a kilometer away from the police station. Despite his young age, he was described as a quiet individual with no apparent signs of stress or family-related issues. He had reported for duty the previous day without any complaints.

Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police officials arrived at the station and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the constable's death. His family, including his parents, rushed to the police station upon learning of the news, expressing their disbelief and demanding answers. The constable's father specifically alleged the presence of bloodstains in the restroom and questioned the police about the cause of his son's death.

The mother alleged that her son might have been tortured, questioning the absence of CCTV cameras and his phone being switched off, as well as the lack of immediate access to his body.

Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, representing the constituency, visited the police station to console the bereaved family.
