Passenger falls onto tracks at Gombak LRT station, causing brief Kelana Jaya Line disruption, says Rapid KL

At approximately 9:05 am today, a passenger at Gombak LRT station in Kuala Lumpur fainted and fell onto the tracks. Rapid KL, the rail operator, reported that the incident triggered the station’s Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) system, leading to a temporary halt in train operations as a safety precaution.

Following the incident, operations personnel and auxiliary police swiftly assisted the affected passenger, helping them out of harm’s way and transporting them to the station’s emergency room before an ambulance arrived. Upon examination, the passenger was taken to Tawakal Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further medical attention.

Despite the brief interruption, Rapid KL confirmed that a subsequent inspection of the tracks revealed no safety concerns, allowing train services to resume approximately seven minutes after the event at 9:12 am.
