Passenger falls onto tracks at Gombak LRT station, causing brief Kelana Jaya Line disruption, says Rapid KL

At approximately 9:05 AM on August 13, a passenger at the Gombak LRT station experienced an incident that briefly disrupted Kelana Jaya Line services, according to Rapid KL. The passenger, who seemed to have fainted, unintentionally fell onto the tracks. In response to the situation, Rapid KL activated the Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) system, which led to the temporary shutdown of power to the tracks as a precautionary measure.

This action allowed the operations team and auxiliary police to swiftly intervene and assist the passenger, who was subsequently removed from the track area and transported to the station's emergency room while awaiting an ambulance.

Upon their arrival at the station, operations personnel and auxiliary police ensured the passenger received the necessary care before being taken to Tawakal Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further examination and treatment. Following a thorough inspection, Rapid KL confirmed that the tracks were safe to resume operations. Consequently, train services were reinstated at 9:12 AM, roughly seven minutes after the incident had occurred.
