NDA, INDIA bloc MPs clash near the Parliament

On Thursday near Parliament's Makar Dwar, ruling NDA and opposition INDIA bloc MPs engaged in a confrontation, with security forces establishing a barrier between the two factions. The clash erupted as they protested and shouted counter-slogans against police actions in Jharkhand and controversy surrounding donations allegedly stolen from the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

NDA MPs called for answers from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging he was evading a debate on student protests across the nation, while INDIA bloc MPs demanded accountability from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the alleged police brutality during July 20's student protests over paper leaks.

Before the standoff, both parties held their respective demonstrations separately. NDA MPs occupied the steps of Makar Dwar, shouting slogans against Gandhi, who they accused of avoiding a discussion on student protests in Jharkhand. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticized the opposition, stating that they raised no concerns about development, the country's progress, the economy, or defense.

Instead, they displayed tantrums in Parliament. NDA MPs and INDIA bloc MPs separately protested near Makar Dwar, holding signs that read "Amit Shah maafi maango" (Apologize to Amit Shah) and "Chanda chor" (Theft of donations), alongside other slogans. Opposing MPs held a large banner that read "Chanda kisne loota hai?" (From whom was the donation stolen?) and chanted anti-BJP chants.

INDIA bloc MPs had been protesting for approximately three weeks, persistently demanding Shah's presence in the House and a statement from him. Despite the government's offer of a debate and Shah's response, the stalemate persisted, with the Congress insisting that the home minister's reply must specifically address the allegations of police using pellets against students.
