Media practitioners urged to uphold truth, accuracy

Media professionals in Cross River State were advised on Tuesday to uphold truth, precision and professionalism at the conclusion of a five-day Information and Media Convergence. Organized by the Forum of Directors of Information in the state's various campuses, the event brought together students, media practitioners, and communication leaders, who participated both in-person and virtually.

Cynthia Maduekwe, the event's convener, praised all partners, speakers, and attendees, calling the event insightful, engaging, and impactful. She emphasized that the program aimed to shape participants as society's watchdogs and expose them to journalistic ethical standards, noting it was a valuable and impactful session. Maduekwe explained that the event aimed to fill the information and skills gap among young journalists and public relations students, preparing them for opportunities in the modern economy. She urged participants to reflect on their learnings in their communities.
