Media practitioners urged to uphold truth, accuracy

Media professionals in Cross River State were encouraged to maintain truthfulness, precision, and professionalism during a five-day Information and Media Convergence, which concluded on Tuesday. Organized by the Forum of Directors of Information across state universities, the event saw participation from students, media practitioners, and communication experts, along with virtual attendees.

Convener Cynthia Maduekwe praised all involved, calling the event insightful, engaging, and impactful. She emphasized the platform's purpose in cultivating watchdogs of society and familiarizing attendees with journalistic ethical standards. Maduekwe acknowledged the platform as an avenue to address the gap in information and skills among emerging journalists and public relations students, preparing them for opportunities within the contemporary economic landscape.

She urged participants to consider how they could apply their learnings to their respective communities.
