LG Electronics India Q1 Results: PAT rises marginally YoY to Rs 653 crore; revenue up 15%

LG Electronics India reported a modest 27.2% year-on-year increase in profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 653 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared to Rs 513 crore in the same period of the prior fiscal year. Revenue from operations grew 15.5% to Rs 7,233 crore, up from Rs 6,262 crore in Q1FY26. EBITDA rose 26.2% to Rs 904 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded 106 basis points to 12.5%, driven by higher volumes, premium mix, and strong Home Entertainment demand.

Televisions led the growth, fueled by a preference for larger screens and advanced technologies, with OLED and QNED products boosting the premium mix. A major sports event spurred upgrade demand, and proactive product launches helped capitalize on the opportunity. The ID business also performed well, aided by government and institutional orders.

Across categories, growth was diversified, with washing machines and compressors performing strongly, while LG's Essential range expanded in volume markets. Exports also contributed to growth, alongside a shift towards feature-rich, energy-efficient products. LG Electronics India remains optimistic about FY27, citing intact demand, a favoring product mix, export growth, and expansion in B2B and AMC businesses.

Despite geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges, the company aims to maintain margin trajectory through pricing discipline, operational efficiencies, and localization.
