Kerala HC says it achieved a higher case clearance ratio

The Kerala High Court has reported a significant improvement in the case clearance rate following the implementation of the Auto Cause List System (ACLS) and the various initiatives by the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) division. ACLS automatically prioritizes long-pending cases and ensures their timely listing before the appropriate judicial Benches. Since its inception on May 19, 2026, the system has listed 202,729 cases across different Benches.

During the first half of 2026, out of 6,560 cases referred to the Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre, 724 were successfully settled. In parallel, 18,110 cases were cleared within the district judiciary. The High Court Legal Services Committee and the National Lok Adalats organized under the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KeLSA) contributed to this success, settling a total of 24,682 cases across the state.

The collective efforts of these bodies have led to an enhanced case clearance ratio, as confirmed by a recent communication. KeLSA also played a crucial role in disbursing ₹48.23 crore to victims of crime, providing financial aid to those in need of rehabilitation. This scheme aims to support crime victims, including women or their dependents, who have suffered losses or injuries due to criminal activities.
