Kelana Jaya LRT services fully restored after power outage near University station

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — Kelana Jaya LRT services were restored to normal at 10.25am on August 13 after a power outage at Universiti station left a train stranded between Taman Jaya and Universiti, according to Rapid KL. The power disruption occurred around 9.28am, prompting passengers to be transferred to a rescue train under standard safety protocols.

Rapid KL stated that passengers were safely moved to the rescue train and subsequently continued their journeys on another train, with no reported injuries. The airline claimed that transferring passengers between trains is a standard safety procedure when a train is stranded due to technical faults or power disruptions. After a safety assessment at the location, the airline activated alternate train services temporarily to minimize the impact of the disruption on commuters.

The company's technical team inspected and restored the affected system, conducting safety checks before resuming normal operations. The train involved was taken out of service and sent to the depot for further inspection to determine the incident's cause. Rapid KL expressed regret for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation during the disruption.
