Imigresen tahan 20 warga asing, lumpuh sindiket lerai kenderaan di Klang

Malaysian Immigration authorities have cracked down on a smuggling ring involving 20 suspected foreign nationals, dismantling an operation that involved stealing and selling used vehicles in a premises located at Jalan Kapar, Klang, on Wednesday. The operation was conducted by 24 officers and agents, leading to the arrest of 17 Pakistani men, two Indonesian men and one Indonesian woman.

Initial investigations revealed that the group, comprised of Pakistani nationals, was involved in dismantling and selling various parts of vehicles, including a suspected Malaysian-made passenger vehicle belonging to a funeral service company recently. The Indonesian nationals were alleged to be managing transit services for foreign travelers awaiting their departure.

According to the statement, a banned 'refugee shelter' service is believed to be charging between RM5,000 to RM10,000 per foreign traveler. All individuals involved are currently detained at the Immigration Department's depot for further investigations under the Immigration Act 1959/63, Passport Act 1966, Immigration Rules 1963 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act 2007 (ATIPSOM).

The department emphasized their serious concerns over the involvement of foreign nationals in planned criminal activities that could compromise public safety and security. They vowed to strengthen strategic cooperation with related enforcement agencies to monitor and take strong action against foreign nationals and their syndicates involved in such activities.

The Immigration Department warned that no compromise would be made against those who shelter or pay for unauthorized arrivals, and they remain committed to increasing nationwide operations to maintain public safety and national integrity.
