Imigresen tahan 20 warga asing, lumpuh sindiket lerai kenderaan di Klang

A large operation led by the Malaysian Immigration Department has resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects involved in an organized scheme to dismantle and sell damaged vehicles in Klang. The raid, which took place on Wednesday afternoon, involved 24 officers and took place at a premises on Jalan Kapar. The authorities have stated that the investigation found a network of Pakistani nationals actively dismantling and selling vehicle components, including a suspected involvement in the disappearance of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) belonging to a funeral management company.

The operation also involved Indonesian nationals who were managing transit services for foreign visitors awaiting travel back to their home countries. It was alleged that the 'refugee shelter' service involved the payment of between RM5,000 and RM10,000 per foreign visitor. All the arrested individuals are currently being held at the Immigration Department's depot for further investigation under the provisions of the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passports Act 1966, the Immigration Regulations 1963, and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti- Smuggling Act 2007 (ATIPSOM).

The authorities have expressed their seriousness towards the involvement of foreign nationals in planned criminal activities that can endanger public safety and security. The Immigration Department has pledged to strengthen strategic cooperation with related agencies to monitor and take strong action against foreign nationals and the syndicate involved.

Further monitoring and reinforcement measures will be taken to ensure that no more illegal activities of this nature operate in the surrounding areas. The Immigration Department has warned that any compromise in action taken against individuals who harbor or hire unauthorized migrants will be taken seriously, with a commitment to intensifying nationwide operations to maintain national safety and integrity.
