'I worked really hard and it paid off': Elation, nerves and proud parents as students get results

Emily, a student from Hartlepool, expressed elation after receiving her A-level results, admitting she felt nervous before discovering her grades. She shared her aspirations to become a solicitor following her A*, A and B grades. Anastasiia Sochka, who moved to Hartlepool from Ukraine, was overjoyed to inform her father serving in the Ukrainian army of her A* in Russian, A in psychology and B in sociology.

She now plans to pursue a social work career at Newcastle University. For some, the results day was a cause for celebration, like Civ, who decided to celebrate by having a lie-in after securing two A*s and an A at Newcastle University. Others, like Michel, were overjoyed with his A*, A, A grades, which secured him a spot at King's College London to study political economy.

Triplets Scarlett, Grace and Tabby Taylor were ecstatic, following their acceptance into their first choice universities. Despite the stress and pressure, many students are finding ways to move forward, whether it be through re-sitting exams, applying for alternative courses or starting apprenticeships.
