14 days, two accidents, one target: Delhi Police cracks 27-year-old revenge plot

Delhi Police cracked a 27-year-old revenge plot that claimed the life of 46-year-old Deepak Dabas in a series of two accidents. The first incident occurred on July 2 when a Hyundai i10 hit Deepak's scooter, leaving him injured but alive. The second accident took place on July 16, resulting in Deepak's death. Upon investigation, police discovered multiple tyre marks on Deepak's body, suggesting his assailant had repeatedly run him over.

Five individuals were arrested in connection to the murder, including the main conspirator Pawan alias Jagpal Dabas. The roots of the rivalry between Deepak and Pawan go back 27 years, stemming from a dispute involving Deepak allegedly misbehaving with Pawan's sister. The plan to murder Deepak began in February when Pawan's brother Saajan allegedly fired outside Deepak's residence to scare him. The first attempt to kill Deepak was made on July 2, followed by a second attempt two weeks later.
