Will 8th CPC submit report before 18-month deadline?

The 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) is currently engaging with various employee and pensioner bodies to discuss matters related to pay, pensions and related work issues. With over 1 crore central government employees and pensioners eagerly awaiting the commission's recommendations, the 8th CPC was set a 18-month deadline to submit its report, which would expire on May 2027.

Neeraj Shekhar, a member of Parliament, requested whether the commission plans to submit its recommendations before the deadline and inquired about the stakeholders it has consulted so far. Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance, confirmed that the commission will make recommendations within 18 months of its constitution but did not provide specifics on the progress of consultations.
