Space42, Leonardo DRS sign MoU to advance national security mission systems

Dubai-based Space42, an AI-powered SpaceTech company, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Leonardo DRS to enhance national security mission systems. This collaboration aims to integrate Leonardo DRS's mission systems with Space42's secure satellite connectivity, bolstering sovereign national security across the UAE.

The MoU stipulates that Leonardo DRS will leverage its expertise in C5ISR mission systems, while Space42 will contribute secure, AI-enabled satellite communications and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) connectivity. Together, the companies intend to explore the joint development and integration of advanced mission capabilities for the UAE.

Ahmed AlMehrzi, Chief Commercial Officer - Government at Space42, emphasized the strategic importance of being recognized as a trusted leader in secure connectivity. Denny Crumley, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Leonardo DRS Land Electronics, highlighted the significance of this partnership in supporting UAE national security priorities with advanced integrated capabilities.

This move comes as national security operations become increasingly complex and interconnected, necessitating integrated mission systems, secure satellite communications, and continuous situational awareness.
