Wanita mengaku salah anjur kutu lebih RM1.7 juta

A Malaysian woman, Siti Zulaika Ahmad Sabri, 36, has admitted in Alor Setar Sessions Court to orchestrating a lottery syndicate that amassed over RM1.7 million in illicit winnings since last year. Siti made this confession in the presence of Judge Sharmila Abdul Samad, as reported by Utusan Malaysia. The court has yet to determine her sentence as she awaits the trial's outcome on September 22.

The accused is accused of orchestrating a lottery syndicate involving 52 individuals, each required to pay a cash payment, between July 2025 and July last year, from a house in Kampung Padang Satu, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Changlun. This alleged offense is said to have taken place under Section 3 of the (Prohibition of) Lottery Act 1971 (Act 28).

If found guilty, Siti could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to RM500,000, or both. The case is being handled by Deputy Prosecutor Muhammad Fahmi Kamaluddin and Vatchira Wong Rui Fern, while Siti has no legal representation. Judge Sharmila did not allow any bail, despite Fahmi offering RM100,000 for bail and surrendering travel documents, including a passport.

Moreover, Siti did not appeal her bail and will be detained at Prison Keramat until her next hearing. On August 4, three children from Taman Desa Bayanmas, Bukit Kayu Hitam, were reported missing since July 20, allegedly due to debts from lottery gambling orchestrated by the same woman, accused of acting as the "lottery mummy." Two days later, the 39-year-old man and the 36-year-old woman surrendered at Kubang Pasu Police Station.
