Van Vicker fires back at Lil Win over ‘cancelled movie role’ claim

Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has vehemently denied allegations from fellow filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win that he abruptly pulled out of an upcoming movie project. Lil Win had previously shared his discontent in a video, alleging that Van Vicker had reneged on a role shortly before filming was set to commence. In response, Van Vicker clarified the situation, asserting that he had never formally confirmed his involvement in the film.

According to a report by GhanaWeb, Van Vicker recounted that a director had initially approached him via Lil Win about roles in two films scheduled to be filmed in Kumasi. The original shooting schedules clashed with his timetable, leading the production team to suggest alternative dates. Van Vicker stated that he agreed to verify his availability and requested the scripts before deciding.

Once he reviewed his existing commitments, he informed the director a few days prior to the proposed shoot that he could not attend. He explained that the producers attempted to adjust his schedule by shortening his shooting time from three or four days to just two, but this still did not meet his scheduling requirements. Consequently, Van Vicker rejected claims that he had canceled a pre-agreed role, maintaining that no definitive commitment had been made for him to join the production.

He also criticized the media for presenting the matter as a misleading narrative or a promotional ploy.
