Ubah suai gambar: Rosol Wahid tuntut permohonan maaf

Hulu Terengganu MP Rosol Wahid has filed a defamation lawsuit against a netizen demanding an apology over a doctored photo spread on the Thread platform. The Perikatan Nasional representative alleged the image was clearly created by the Thread profile Nur Mushawwir Hrsikesa. Rosol linked the profile to Nur Mushawwir Hrsikesa Thaitchana Muruthi, whom he claimed is a government clerk and active in politics as PKR Pulau Pinang deputy chairman.

Rosol announced he has discussed legal action with his lawyer against Mushawwir and any parties repeating the dissemination of the content to quash it entirely and demand a public apology. He stated he took this step to protect his name and reputation. Rosol emphasized taking the issue seriously, as the act of spreading altered images of a woman in bridal attire was highly offensive, intended to tarnish and undermine his honor as a Muslim and MP.

Freedom of speech should not be used to defame, belittle, or disgrace someone, especially when it violates Islamic limits and decorum, he added. On the same day, media reported Rosol during a session in Dewan Rakyat alleging the royal advisory panel report on Tabung Haji was incomplete, as if a wedding took place without a bride.

Speaker Johari Abdul later clarified that the session was a debate, and Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi was present to represent the Cabinet.
