Torres misses Barcelona training to finalise PSG move

Ferran Torres, the Spain World Cup hero, has been granted permission to absent himself from Barcelona's training sessions to finalize his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old striker, who netted the extra-time winner against Argentina during Spain's triumphant summer, had been scheduled to resume training with his former club on Wednesday. However, the imminent move to PSG appears to be the reason for his decision. The proposed deal with Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be valued at over £40 million.

Torres has just one year left on his contract at Barcelona, and some fans have expressed discontent regarding his decision to potentially leave the club. During a media tour of the United States following Spain's World Cup victory, Torres candidly remarked, "I have a contract with Barcelona, but in football, you never know." When pressed about his potential move to PSG, he emphasized, "Every time these teams want you, it's a good thing.

You never know in football, as everything can change in a minute, so I have to be prepared for anything."

With two consecutive Champions League victories under their belt, Paris Saint-Germain, managed by former Barcelona coach and player Luis Enrique, might lose forward Bradley Barcola this summer, with the Liverpool-bound player seeking a new challenge. Torres, who has been a part of Barcelona since 2022 after two years at Manchester City, has netted 25 goals in 65 appearances for the Spanish national team.
