민주 “비아파트 공급 늘리고 모듈러 방식 도입”…주택 TF 첫 회의

The Democratic Party and the government convened a first meeting of the Housing Task Force (TF) to examine the overall housing policy, including supply, tax incentives, and finance. Concerns about expanding supply of low-cost apartments and the government's tax reform proposal were raised. The TF met on the 12th to receive reports on the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Maritime Affairs' plan for rapid housing supply and the Financial Committee's proposal for a comprehensive financial package.

The TF's representative, Hong Ban-do, emphasized the need for "speedy execution felt by the nation" and "innovative shortening of housing supply speed" to stabilize the month-end housing market. Specific plans for housing supply were also mentioned, focusing on increasing the supply of urban-type apartments and office apartments, and adopting a modular construction method to improve construction speed.

The Democratic Party also promised to resolve the situation where the 9·7 supply measure bill, the Urban Planning Act, and the Special Act for Revitalization of Post-Acquisition Public Housing were blocked by the ruling coalition. While the tax reform proposal was not discussed formally at the meeting, some lawmakers expressed concerns about its potential impact on low-income households.

Lawmaker Kim Young-bae, who attended the meeting, said that he delivered the concerns of Seoul residents, including that of young people, to the lawmakers and that the points regarding supply and financing were accurately represented. Party member An Tae-jun, representing Gyeonggi Housing Corporation and from Gyeonggi-eup constituency, called for lawmakers to ensure that the proposed tax reforms are tangible and felt by the public.
