EV push gathers pace as India crosses 67k chargers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a seven-pronged growth strategy to propel India towards a higher global scale by 2047, marking a shift in the government's focus from basic infrastructure and welfare outcomes to global competitiveness, self-reliance, and structural reforms. The strategy emphasizes manufacturing, agriculture and food processing, technology and innovation, Gati Shakti, defence power, green economy, and soft power.

Modi aims for India to generate 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047 and establish five new nuclear reactors, as part of a broader energy security strategy. The government plans to open global markets for Indian farmers, allowing them to access larger markets and promote traditional foods as global brands. To harness the potential of the youth, Modi announced free online coaching for students preparing for exams and called for their active participation in sports, including a nationwide talent hunt for children aged 5 to 15 years.

The PM also announced that 50 Indian companies will become Fortune 500 companies in the next few years, and one Indian bank will rank among the world's leading banks. India's cultural and creative industries are expected to gain global recognition.
