Police arrest four suspected armed robbers, cultists in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended four suspected members of a criminal gang involved in armed robbery, murders and cult-related activities in the Ajah region. The suspects, identified as Kareem Abiodun, Tansiru Emmanuel, Lateef Usman and Alashe Azeez, were found in possession of three locally-made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes and a Point-of-Sale machine during a raid on Wednesday.

The arrest operation was triggered by ongoing investigations into a recent robbery case in the area. Preliminary investigations revealed the suspects were linked to multiple violent crimes in Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki. They confessed to their involvement in armed robbery, murder and cultism. The arrested individuals are currently in police custody, providing assistance to the ongoing investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the officers for their diligence and urged them to continue the momentum in apprehending the remaining gang members. He also warned the public about the ongoing efforts to track down and bring violent criminals to justice. The police have urged residents to report any suspicious activities through their emergency lines for a swift response.
