Perak DAP votes unanimously to stay in unity govt

On Sunday, Perak DAP delegates will convene to determine if the party should remain or withdraw from the unity government, which is led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The Perak DAP chapter has unanimously decided to stay in the government, stating that Anwar's leadership has implemented significant reforms over the past three years and has enhanced Malaysia's international reputation.

The party believes that continuation in the government is crucial to fulfilling election promises, including reforms in institutions, judicial independence, anti-corruption efforts, reducing living costs, and safeguarding the rights of Malaysia's diverse population. Perak DAP emphasizes its commitment to driving reforms and promoting national development to benefit the people while staying true to its "Malaysia for Malaysians" ideology.

The state chapter asserts that remaining in the unity government is necessary to prevent extremist forces from gaining ground and to maintain political stability, while also addressing the negative impact of political instability on the economy and investor confidence.
