In Hopkins, a suburb of Minneapolis, a man killed his partner and their child at the daycare they owned before taking his own life, according to police. Six other children present at the daycare have been safely reunited with their parents, and none sustained injuries, authorities in Hopkins revealed on Wednesday. Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson recounted the harrowing incident during a news conference, stating that a parent called the police upon witnessing the attack while arriving to drop off a child at the daycare.

Johnson expressed his profound distress over the situation, emphasizing that there is no worse scenario than discovering one's child in such a distressing scenario at a place where they believed they were safe. The chief refrained from specifying how the victims perished, adding that he was unaware of the relationship between the two adults who owned the daycare, though the deceased child was believed to be theirs.
