Keahlian Bersama meningkat selepas PRN N Sembilan

Rafizi Ramli, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) co-leader, announced that the party will hold internal elections within six to seven months following the defeat of PH in the Negeri Sembilan PRN. An unprecedented surge in requests to become members of Bersama was observed after PH's loss in the State election on August 1st. According to Rafizi, out of the roughly 29,200 Bersama members, most of them are without a political background, representing a significant portion of the surge in requests for membership.

Currently, 60% of the members have never been part of any political party and they largely represent the majority of the recent surge in requests for membership. Of the 25% of members who were former PKR members, the rest come from other parties, mostly Malay parties including Umno, PAS, Berjaya, Pejuang and Amanah. Only less than 1% of the members are former DAP members.

When asked if more MPs would follow former MPs Wong Chen's footsteps and join Bersama, Rafizi could not speak on their behalf. Wong Chen switched to Bersama after leaving the PKR and serving as Subang MP for 17 years. Furthermore, Rafizi announced that Bersama will hold elections within six to seven months once the party's constitution is amended.
