Israel seeking to ‘remove Palestine from world’s agenda’, says Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday that the Israeli government, under Benjamin Netanyahu, is attempting to eliminate Palestine from the world's agenda. Erdogan argued that Israel aims to remove Palestine from global consciousness by exploiting regional chaos and conflicts. Despite this, Erdogan remains confident that the Palestinian cause will persist and grow stronger. He assured that Turkey would stand in support of establishing a Palestinian state.

Erdogan met with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Ankara, where they discussed regional developments. Abbas arrived in Turkey on Tuesday, accompanied by his diplomatic advisor Majdi Khalidi, intelligence chief Majed Faraj, and senior Palestinian official Ziad Abu Amr. The two leaders held talks that Abbas deemed "important and fruitful."

In the past month, Abbas announced that Palestinian legislative elections would be held on November 28, followed by presidential polls early the following year. This would be the first such elections in two decades, according to Abbas. He expressed hope that the elections would bring good fortune and advance the reconciliation process between his Fatah movement and Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Erdogan also mentioned the August 7 defense pact between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, praising it as of utmost importance. He expressed hope that the pact would enhance security and stability in the region.
