The PASE initiative goes beyond food production, aiming to equip inmates with marketable skills that can help them rebuild their lives upon release. The foundation has invested over US$7.48 million in enterprise development projects across its host communities, including the Community Oil Palm Project, Cocoa Farmers Support Programme, and Youth in Organic Horticulture Production.
At Tarkwa Prison, the expansion of the oil palm plantation, supported with 1,400 Tenera oil palm seedlings, fertilizer, organic compost, and various tools, provides inmates with hands-on training in oil palm cultivation, plantation management, and sustainable farming practices. The initiative seeks to transform the prison farm into a training ground where inmates can acquire employable skills, develop self-reliance, and regain confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
