Gavin Hunt slams leaky Stellenbosch defence after 3-3 thriller: We've got to defend better

Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt expressed dissatisfaction with his team's defensive performance in their 3-3 draw against Polokwane City. The match, held at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane, saw Stellenbosch take the lead early through Giovanni Philander, but Marokane City quickly equalized via Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Devin Titus.

The result remained up in the air until Raymond Daniels scored a late winner for Polokwane City, with Manthosi scoring an equalizer for Stellenbosch. Hunt lamented the soft goals conceded by his defense, particularly the corner kick that led to Manthosi's goal. Despite the draw, Hunt believes his team must improve their defensive skills to be consistent in their first full campaign as Stellenbosch FC.

Hunt acknowledged the importance of winning on the road, especially after the team's home defeat last week, but he still called for better defense, stating, "Nobody comes and scores three goals against Polokwane City and draws the game. You should be winning the game." Stellenbosch FC will be looking to bolster their defense as they face Marumo Gallants at Athlone Stadium on Friday.
