DigiLocker Crosses 72.43 Crore Users, UMANG Records 11.66 Crore Registrations: Govt Informs Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, Aug 12: According to the Rajya Sabha, DigiLocker has registered more than 72.43 crore users and facilitated approximately 72.86 crore document access transactions in the past three years. Similarly, the UMANG platform has garnered over 11.66 crore registered users and witnessed around 798 crore transactions in the same period, informed Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Digital services have been expanded in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of democratising technology and empowering citizens. The Digital India programme, launched in July 2015, has resulted in the availability of approximately 2,575 services across India on the UMANG platform and 5,437 document types/services on the DigiLocker platform as of July 31, 2026.

To further improve digital access in rural and remote areas, the government has expanded the network of Common Service Centres (CSCs). As of June 30, 2026, there were 407,122 functional CSCs at the Gram Panchayat level, out of which 70,069 were operated by women Village Level Entrepreneurs. CSCs offer various citizen-centric services, including government, banking, financial, insurance, pension, and utility payment services.

Both UMANG and DigiLocker platforms are accessible through mobile applications and web portals, allowing citizens to access government services conveniently. These platforms are also integrated with key Digital Public Infrastructure components such as Aadhaar, eSign, API Setu, and other major digital platforms, facilitating seamless and paperless service delivery.
