Allen hits go-ahead sacrifice fly, Houston bullpen allows just a run as Astros beat Giants 2-1

Nick Allen delivered a crucial sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, propelling the Houston Astros to a 2-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Steven Okert was the standout performer in Houston's bullpen, allowing a solitary run throughout the game. The Astros prevailed in the series, securing a 3-3 record on their road trip.

Okert (6-1) recorded the win after pitching a hitless 1 1/3 innings. Tatsuya Imai added three scoreless innings, striking out three batters. Josh Hader secured the win as a reliever with a perfect ninth-inning save, raising his season save total to 17, with a 0.96 ERA. Nelson Velázquez tied the game at 1 in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly that brought Isaac Paredes to the plate.

Taylor Trammell, making his first triple of the year, drove Paredes home with a triple off the wall in right field, with Allen adding the decisive run. Adrian Houser started for the Giants, working six innings without allowing a run, striking out five batters.
