Adamawa teachers tasked on efficiency, professionalism

The Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) has called upon teachers to enhance their efficiency and professionalism as part of the state government's data-driven education reform programme. Acting Executive Secretary Birsan Penuel made this appeal during a sensitization and training program on updating school records and teachers' data in secondary schools across the state.

Penuel emphasized the importance of accurate data for better planning and prioritizing interventions in education. He also urged principals to disseminate the training to other educators and ensure that staff records are precise. Penuel expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his support of the education sector and pledged the board's commitment to assist the administration in eradicating out-of-school children in Adamawa.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Adamawa State, Faisal Muhammed Abubakar, praised the governor for his dedication to improving education in the state. Abubakar also commended the Director of Satlink, Sanusi Idris Medugu, calling the initiative timely. He noted that the PPSMB had been requesting yearly data on teaching and non-teaching staff, and the digital process would help tackle data collection and management challenges.

Medugu emphasized the significance of participants paying attention during the training to achieve its objectives, stating that the program aimed to equip attendees with skills to digitally enroll themselves and record accurate staff data.
