18-year-old dies after falling into pond in Kano

An 18-year-old man, Abdullahi Aminu, tragically lost his life after falling into a pond in Kofar Gabas, within Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State. The Kano State Fire Service's Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, announced this incident in a statement released on Wednesday. The unfortunate event unfolded on Tuesday around 3:28 p.m. According to the statement, the Kano State Fire Service received a distress call from Aminu Lawan, who informed them that his son had fallen into the pond.

The statement further explained that upon receiving the report, firefighters from the Danbatta Fire Station immediately responded to the scene. They found the victim unconscious in the pond and attempted resuscitation efforts. Despite their best efforts, the young man was confirmed deceased. The statement concluded by informing the family of the deceased and expressing condolences, while also urging residents to be cautious around ponds and water bodies, especially during the rainy season.
