Wisconsin hockey schedule includes homecoming for coach Mike Hastings

The Wisconsin men's hockey team returns to the Kohl Center for the 2026-27 season, commencing with a nonconference series against Robert Morris in early October. This announcement was made on August 10, with four nonconference series added to the schedule, alongside the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off scheduled for December. Three of these nonconference series will be played at home, while a trip to Minnesota State is planned for October 9-10, marking a homecoming for head coach Mike Hastings. Hastings spent 11 seasons as the coach of the Mavericks before joining Wisconsin.

The full schedule includes nonconference dates marked by an asterisk. The specific times for the Big Ten series and all other matches will be announced at a later date. Wisconsin's hockey journey for the 2026-27 season unfolds as follows: Wisconsin hosts Robert Morris from October 2-3, then travels to Minnesota State for games on October 9-10.

Following this, the team faces Notre Dame from October 29-November 1, visits Minnesota in November 5-8, and hosts Ohio State from November 12-15. Penn State is scheduled for November 19-22, while Canisius plays at home on December 3-6. The team travels to Michigan for games on December 10-11, hosts Omaha on December 29-30, and concludes the nonconference portion of the schedule with the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off from December 29-30, featuring Arizona State, UMass, and Northern Michigan.

The remaining games are set for January through March, with Wisconsin hosting Michigan State on January 7-10, traveling to Penn State on January 21-24, and facing Ohio State on January 28-31. The team then takes on Minnesota from February 4-7, visits Michigan State from February 11-14, and concludes the season with a game against Michigan on February 18-21.
