Why I always play witch, wicked roles in Nollywood movies – Patience Ozokwor

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, affectionately known as Mama G, has revealed that her frequent roles as witches, wicked women, or antagonists in Nollywood films are a divine calling. During a live-streamed interview with content creator Carter Efe, Ozokwor addressed the public's curiosity about her recurring portrayals of such characters.

She explained that she is averse to injustice, war, and rancour, and when given such roles, she strives to incorporate every negative aspect into them. Ozokwor emphasized that actors engaging in these roles must be mindful of the outcomes and consider whether the means justify the ends. She urged performers to reflect on the potential consequences of leading a life filled with wickedness, as well as the benefits of being a virtuous individual.

According to Ozokwor, her performances are intentionally designed to highlight the repercussions of negative behavior, framing villainy as a form of social instruction through storytelling.
