Why I always play witch, wicked roles in Nollywood movies – Patience Ozokwor

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, affectionately called Mama G, disclosed that she frequently embodies witch, wicked woman, or antagonistic personas in Nollywood films as a divine calling. The actress made these remarks during a live-streamed interview with content creator Carter Efe. In the interview, Ozokwor addressed the public's curiosity regarding her consistent portrayal of such characters in Nollywood movies.

"I think God gave me that niche. I hate every ill because I don’t like injustice, war, and rancour. When you give me those roles, I try to bring everything into them," she stated. Ozokwor emphasized that she aims to convey the full weight of her roles, explaining, "If you are taking part in any of them, you have to be careful and know the end thereof, for the end justifies the means.

Know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life, and know what you will gain if you are a good person."

The actress further explained that her character portrayals are meticulously designed to illustrate the repercussions of immoral behavior, framing villainy as a means of social instruction through storytelling.
