USA Swimming places CFO on leave after learning of arrest for embezzlement while working at CU

Colorado Springs, Colo. (AP) — USA Swimming's chief financial officer, Cory Hilliard, has been placed on leave following his arrest on theft and embezzlement charges from his previous role as an administrator at the University of Colorado. According to prosecutors, Hilliard allegedly misappropriated funds from the school's Nike Elite program for personal use, resulting in a loss of $9,510 for the institution.

USA Swimming learned of Hilliard's arrest on Monday and immediately moved to place him on leave, revoking all access to company data and financial controls. The organization is now conducting its own investigation into the matter.
