The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has urged aviation unions to suspend their ongoing strike, as the disruption continues to impact flight operations and inconvenience passengers. The appeal came after the unions failed to attend an industrial action meeting called by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

The NCAA, led by Director-General Chris Najomo, acknowledged the impact of the strike on passengers and other stakeholders, urging unions to "sheathe their swords and exercise restraint" while awaiting Keyamo's return. The Ministry of Aviation had convened a meeting to address the grievances, but the airline operators did not participate.

The unions' actions have left passengers stranded, and the NCAA has appealed to all parties to return to negotiations, expressing confidence that a resolution will be reached soon. Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, acknowledged the disruption and apologized to affected passengers, assuring them of timely updates as the situation evolves.
