UAE PM Gets Nawaz Sharif-Like Treatment in London

Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, faced confrontations in central London similar to the treatment Nawaz Sharif received in the same city. The incident drew attention due to allegations of the UAE's involvement in Sudan's conflict. In a video circulating on social media, a Sudanese man confronted Mohammed bin Rashid and his entourage, alleging that the UAE was killing people in Sudan.

The man's claims were met with responses of racial abuse from a member of the UAE delegation, who crossed the road to confront the protester. The incident has brought back memories of the harassment Sharif and his family experienced in London in 2018, where protesters gathered outside their home, hurled abuse, and attempted to break into the property.

British police investigated the incident. The UAE denies any involvement in the conflict, but UN experts and rights groups have reported evidence linking the UAE to arms transfers and support networks associated with Sudan's Rapid Support Forces, which have been accused of committing atrocities.
