2 Indonesian women among 128 migrants detained in Kelantan

Two Indonesian women, who were working alongside their husbands at a construction site in Kelantan, were among 128 undocumented migrants detained during a joint Immigration enforcement operation. The state Immigration Department director disclosed that the women were detained for allegedly entering Malaysia illegally. The operation, known as Ops Mega and Ops Bersepadu, was carried out simultaneously in Kelantan and Kota Bharu, involving 48 Immigration officers and personnel from various government departments.

A total of 316 foreigners were inspected at two locations during the operation. Out of the 128 detained, 100 were Bangladeshi nationals, 27 were Indonesian, and one was Vietnamese. The detainees were charged under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963. The enforcement efforts aim to reduce the presence of undocumented migrants and ensure adherence to immigration laws in the state.
