‘Indisputable reality’: Centre dismisses China over naming places in Arunachal

India has rejected China's criticism over the identification of 27 places and features in Arunachal Pradesh by their standard names, asserting that the border situation will reflect on the state of bilateral ties. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, emphasized that the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas is of utmost importance and reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an "inalienable and integral" part of India.

The official spokesperson also added that China's repeated renaming of these locations is categorically rejected by India, and such moves are deemed "vain and preposterous." The meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China border affairs last week saw discussions on the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and a commitment to continue using existing diplomatic and military channels to resolve outstanding issues and avoid misunderstandings.
