RoS probes Bersatu complaint over position in Perikatan Nasional

The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has acknowledged a formal complaint lodged by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) against its exclusion from a recent Perikatan Nasional (PN) supreme council meeting. The complaint also alleges breaches of the coalition's constitution and that Bersatu was not part of the PN Supreme Council meeting held on July 16.

RoS has initiated a review of the complaint under the Societies Act 1966 and relevant regulations. The department emphasized the requirement for all registered societies to adhere to the Societies Act 1966, relevant regulations, and their respective constitutions. They pledged to examine all submitted information, documents, and explanations impartially, without favoring any party or organization involved.

The dispute has further escalated within PN, with PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang suggesting that Bersatu's membership in the coalition had expired following Muhyiddin Yassin's announcement of a new coalition. Bersatu's information chief, Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, accused PAS of exploiting PN for political gain and called for RoS to intervene.

PN's secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, stated that the coalition is willing to provide an explanation if RoS requests information regarding the allegations.
