Pemuda gesa PH jangan jadi ‘pendinding’ BN, nilai semula kerjasama

Angkatan Muda Harapan (AMH) seeks to reevaluate Pakatan Harapan's (PH) cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) while emphasizing it should not be seen as a hindrance to their respective parties amid various past issues. AMH warns that allowing this perception to persist could weaken and tarnish the image of PH, especially as political developments demand a thorough re-examination of the form, mechanisms, and future of cooperation between the two blocs.

"Pakatan Harapan cannot be perceived as a 'hinderer' of BN on various past issues that ultimately weaken and discredit the image of Pakatan Harapan," states the AMH's declaration. The declaration was issued by AMH Chairman Woo Kah Leong, PKR Youth Chairman Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, and Amanah Youth Chairman Hasbie Muda. AMH also views political cooperation as not being built solely on electoral projections but rather on trust, respect, and commitment to shared principles.

It urges PH in all states to be given space to express views and re-evaluate the dynamics of cooperation with BN based on regional political circumstances. AMH also demands decisive action against any scandal allegations, abuse of power, misuse of resources, or conflicts of interest involving government-linked companies (GLCs), state-owned enterprises, and entities utilizing public funds, regardless of the political standing of the involved parties.

Concerning democracy, the group advocates for the continuation of the Anwar Ibrahim's Assembly of Representatives Act reform to ensure the right to assemble, criticize the government, and express dissent peacefully is protected. AMH also proposes prioritizing STPM students with a CGPA of 4.0 and STAM students with a Mumtaz decision over three key higher education institutions, with admission to any of these institutions being subject to program requirements, capacity, and field of study considerations.

In the subsidy issue, AMH seeks to increase the BUDI95 eligibility ceiling from 200 liters to 300 liters per month, especially for those reliant on private vehicles for work, trade, and family care. It also calls for a reevaluation of the Budi Madani Diesel mechanism to be fairer and easier to understand, preventing deserving individuals from being unfairly excluded due to registration or eligibility determination processes.

According to AMH, these five demands reflect the public's desire to see action on subsidy issues, the protection of public funds, empowering without favor, cooperative politics based on principles, and opportunities for youth education.
