Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the Chairperson of Mara, has announced that the organization has taken steps to transform the process of selecting food tenderers, ultimately breaking the cartel controlling the MRSM food contract. Mara has been receiving numerous complaints from parents and students regarding the quality of food served, with some even alleging the existence of a cartel overseeing the MRSM food contract.

During his tenure as Mara's representative, Asyraf has been inundated with grievances from both parents and students on social media platforms, particularly regarding the poor quality of food and frequent cases of food contamination. These complaints prompted him to take action and address the cartel issue, which he claims has now been resolved.

Asyraf notes that he personally witnessed multiple instances of poor hygiene in the MRSM canteen, incorrect weighing of fish, and incorrect sizing of chicken that did not meet the specified standards. These are just a few examples of the irregularities he has observed. In a Facebook post, he detailed these incidents and revealed that he now closely monitors the management of Mara to ensure they transform the food tender selection process and terminate any contracts that do not meet the required quality and contractual terms.

Some may criticize Asyraf and Mara, but he urges everyone to remain calm and supportive, even if they oppose him, as long as all actions are carried out according to the proper procedures and processes in the best interest of the students under Mara's care. He firmly believes that the well-being of students in all Mara institutions, including MRSM, remains their top priority, as they are an invaluable asset to the nation.
