Man kills 2 daughters, attempts suicide at 5-star hotel near Bengaluru airport

A 35-year-old man allegedly murdered his two daughters, aged five and ten, before attempting suicide at a five-star hotel near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on Monday, according to police. The girls were discovered dead inside a room at the hotel, while the man, severely injured with throat wounds, was found unconscious in the same room. He was promptly taken to a private hospital, where his condition was reported as critical, by police.

Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage, digital evidence, and other collected materials to piece together the sequence of events leading to the incident. Once the accused regains sufficient medical stability, his statement will be recorded, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) GK Mithun Kumar. Forensic personnel are also present at the scene, preparing to gather samples and other evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A note purportedly detailing a dispute over an alleged extramarital relationship was reportedly found in the hotel room. However, it remains unclear if the alleged disagreement was connected to the girls' deaths. The contents of the note are under examination, and authorities are verifying the allegations contained within it. At present, it would be premature to draw any conclusions regarding the motive behind the murders.

The suspect was identified as a manager at a private firm. The hotel room in question is located on the fourth floor. Police are currently verifying the booking details, and the victims' bodies have been transferred to a mortuary for post-mortem examinations to ascertain the precise cause of death.
