Malaysia bukan ‘tong sampah’, Lim persoal sisa binaan masuk ke Pontian

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has raised concerns over the lack of adequate security at the border checkpoint, allowing dangerous materials to be transported out of Malaysia. In a Facebook post, Lim questioned why CCTV footage of the incident, where a suspected drug trafficker attempted to smuggle over 26kg of drugs through Malaysian customs, has not been made public.

Additionally, Lim brought up concerns about the continuous inflow of construction waste from Singapore into Pontian, a Malaysian district. According to Lim, around 20 lorries are reportedly entering the area every night, raising doubts about how these lorries manage to bypass border controls. Lim questioned who checks the cargo, verifies the documentation, and approves their entry.

He emphasized that Malaysia should not become a dumping ground for other countries if they cannot ensure proper controls at their borders.
