LASEMA contains Lagos fire, records zero casualty

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) successfully contained two separate fires in the states of Igando and Anifowoshe, Ikeja, without any casualties. LASEMA reported the incidents in a statement on Monday, detailing their rapid response to the emergencies. On Sunday evening, the agency's Dolphin Team responded to a fire at 23 Shaba Ojo Street in Igando.

Upon arrival, they found a two-storey building on fire, originating from a two-bedroom flat due to an electrical surge. The blaze was quickly contained, preventing damage to other apartments. The team returned to base at 8:24pm, confirming no casualties. Later that night, at 61 Abeokuta Street in Anifowoshe, the Tiger Squad dealt with a similar fire at a top-floor flat, caused by an electrical surge from an air-conditioning unit.

Firefighters managed to confine the blaze to the affected bedroom, successfully extinguishing the fire. LASEMA reiterated its dedication to disaster risk reduction and prompt emergency response, emphasizing the importance of protecting lives and property in Lagos.
