KSTS Launches 35th Anniversary and Fundraising to Expand Infrastructural Development

Kumasi Senior Technical School (KSTS) marked its 35th anniversary and began a fundraising campaign to enhance its infrastructure and finish unfinished projects on campus. The event united students, faculty, alumni, parents, and other key figures. Mr. Yaw Twimasi, the school's headmaster, reaffirmed the institution's dedication to delivering top-notch technical education.

He revealed that KSTS has grown from 250 students and 12 tutors in 1991 to a current enrollment of 4,754 students, including 1,885 girls and 2,868 boys, and a staff of 262 teaching staff and 63 non-teaching staff. The school has achieved notable academic and technical success, according to Mr. Twimasi, thanks to the efforts of its teachers and parents.

He appealed to the government to assist in constructing the Assembly Hall, Dining Hall, and Boys' Dormitory, which he deemed insufficient for the expanding student body. He also highlighted issues with sanitation facilities and inadequate furniture for students. Kumasi's Mayor, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, acknowledged the growing educational demands and called for a collaborative effort from government, stakeholders, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The Mayor pledged to furnish the Boys' Dormitory with a 20-seater toilet facility and additional sanitation amenities, with procurement processes currently underway. Additionally, the mayor promised to supply chairs for teaching staff to ensure quality teaching and learning, demonstrating his commitment to KSTS's aspirations.
